Summary of Key Climate, Community and Biodiversity Project Objectives
The overall objective of the Purus Project is to generate sustainable economic opportunities for local families/communities and implement social projects, while working to mitigate deforestation (ie, which results in less greenhouse gas emissions) and preserve biodiversity at risk in the Project area.
A partir da mitigação do desmatamento, serão gerados pagamentos por serviços ambientais, o que permitirá a implementação de projetos sociais locais e a criação de oportunidades econômicas para as comunidades. Da mesma forma, melhorando os meios de subsistência locais e a criação de oportunidades econômicas alternativas, haverá menos pressão sobre as florestas e redução do desmatamento. Melhorar os meios de subsistência local e redução do desmatamento são mecanismos fundamentais para preservar a biodiversidade do Projeto. Para atingir estes objetivos gerais, as seguintes atividades do Projeto clima, comunidade e biodiversidade foram identificadas pelos proponentes do Projeto Purus.
Main Objective of the Climate Project
To reduce deforestation and the amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the project proponents have committed to carry out the following activities:
- Forest Carbon Inventory
- Regional Deforestation and Land Use Modeling
- Identification of underlying deforestation sites to Mitigate GHG release
- Develop Climate Monitoring Plan
- Monitor deforestation
Main Objective of the Climate Project
In order to generate sustainable economic opportunities and implement social projects for the communities living in and around the Purus Project area, the Project Proponents have committed to begin planning the following activities:
- Meetings with the community to raise awareness and discuss the Project;
- Development of social projects and programs for the community;
- Development of social projects and programs for the community;
- Develop Climate Monitoring Plan
- Monitor impacts on the community.

Para preservar a rica biodiversidade da área, os proponentes do projeto vão gerar oportunidades econômicas sustentáveis para as comunidades locais e implementar projetos sociais com o objetivo de abordar as causas subjacentes do desmatamento e redução da liberação de GEEs. Além disso, os proponentes do projeto avaliarão a biodiversidade local e desenvolverão um plano de monitoramento desta biodiversidade o qual envolverá as seguintes
atividades:
- Quickly assess the biodiversity in the Project
- Develop Climate Monitoring Plan
- Monitor impacts on the community.
